The Bogland – Ireland January 2021

I have been busy setting up an online shop for art photography prints and have been in the process of organising, selecting and editing a slew of photos to see what will make the cut. Here is some edits of photos that was taken back in January of this year, which feels like a lifetime ago. I can almost taste the clean air and feel my boots squelch in the rich peat filled trenches as my dogs watch cautiously in preparation for an almost face plant.

Vitamin D and Mimosa Trees

Finally a taste of summer! It was glorious to get my milk bottle legs out and get some sun on my pasty Irish face while inviting the aroma of the yellow mimosas and exotic looking palm trees and. A definite serotonin and Vitamin D boost was well needed by all, coupled with the relaxing of measures here in the UK it’s hard not to feel giddy for better times ahead.

Icy Escapades #1

Icy Escapades; exploring rural Ireland is a frosty delight. White disk bubble explosions mimicking silver dollar plants being trapped among island like greenery underneath the ice, like little moons illuminating the inhabitants of these nebulas as they hibernate.

Milky swirls interrupted by sprouting spiky brambles that loop in and out of the ice like a dragons tail frozen in time or a serpent sinking below the undergrowth along with the limbs of arachnids reaching for something no longer.

Shutterbug Shenanigans #1

〰️She’s a Beaut〰️

I have always wanted a camera, I think having one will help in all fields of what I do especially with composition and framing, so after having a bottle of red and smashing in the brains of orcs while playing dungeons and dragons with my nerdy friends I decided to buy the Canon EOS M50 in the gross consumerist holiday of Black Friday. (that I swiftly cancelled when I sobered up the next day) so I waited patiently and sniper bid on the same camera on eBay for a fraction of the price and have been experimenting. There is a lot to learn with cameras – aperture, ISO to name a few but I’m excited to learn and explore – particularly with moody, misty night shots. A new section on my blog entitled Shutterbug Shenanigans will show the result of fucking about with my new toy!
